When I read the changelog of Photoshop UXP: UXP Changelog
Wow! Finally I can do the pixel manipulation in Photoshop via UXP. I was thinking about how I could test it. And then I had an idea!
Every game developer wants to recreate the legendary Wolfenstein 3D raycasting engine. Luckily there is a great post about it: https://lodev.org/cgtutor/raycasting.html
So I thought, how about we build it into Photoshop.
I use my MonkeyWork plugin for this, as it does a few things for me. Otherwise it’s just a simple raycasting engine in Javascript.
It was a fun day project and the new imaging API is pretty solid.
Every now and then you have to do fun projects!
